I've been struggling to start our rockhounding journeys. Are the gravel pits that you go to, active? We have lots around here, but I can't imagine they let people in to rockhound their pits? Do you happen to know if WMAs are covered under the DNR's statement: "Rock collecting is not allowed in the state parks and state scientific and natural areas." A WMA is not an SNA, but unsure if it is considered a state park. We have so many WMAs around here...

You should consider getting a USB microscope camera. Something with 60x or so is very cheap ($10-$20 to start) and you can see so much more amazing detail in otherwise plain looking rocks that you otherwise wouldn't see with the naked eye. I could see that second one you cut open looking spectacular under low magnification, potentially. This is just a suggestion, of course. This is your thing and your channel, so I don't want to seem pushy. I just wanted to throw the idea out there. =) Unless you already have a microscope, in which case forget everything I just said lol.

O saw what it looks like some tectites and rolled obsidians, maybe black agates. That kind of rounded black stones, that once you make em wet looks really diferent than dry. Even maybe some rock were blue or dark green. Good luck gem hunter!!

I loved it! Especially because I thought you just bought real gemstones and were going to pretend like you found them somewhere. I guess I have some trust issues 😅 And I guess you helped me cure them a little... I love your reaction to how they looked on the inside! Your enthusiasm is infectious😄 But some of them are indeed very beautiful!

You could always keep all the slabs even if you dont think its cool, and sell them somewhere. People buy rocks slices. Or if you're skilled and patient you could chip them down into like little spear heads

The quality of these are quite poor. I think it may be helpful if a video was made with higher quality crystals so we can better see the differences visually rather than small low quality tumbles. I also don't agree with the coloring of carnelian being lighter than agate.
